Citroen XM steering problem when cold??
Discussion
Hi,i've got a 94 Citroen Xm,2.0 petrol turbo(yeah you've got every right to be jealous!)anyway, when driving when you first start the car in the morning and you have to turn a corner the car just doesn't want to turn?,its unbelievably hard to turn, particulary scary on the two roundabouts near us!Anyone any ideas,it seems to be fine when warm?I know its got to be a Hydraulic issue somewhere along the line, fluid level is fine,no low pressure warnings on the dash, tyre pressures are fine, car lifting up and down is fine and holds pressure just as it should, anyone any ideas?
Your probably right. As you may know my suspension is a little lazy, but i have noticed when i first start it the steering is fine, the suspension takes a while to settle, and the brakes just dont work until the light near as dammit goes out. The thing is i have notice the pump uses a common feed from the tank, so if its a filter problem all systems should be affected yes?
This is usually the sign that the HP pump is starting to fail. However sometimes a good flush with Hydrarinse does the job .You could also try taking the pipe off at the tank that feeds the pump and pour LHM into the pump to eradicate any air that may be trapped in the pump(you may find a funnel handy for this).
