106 gti brakes are a little bigger arent they?

If not a friend has fitted Black Diamond discs to his with Mintex 1144 pads and he is very impressed with them for fast road use.

Or you are going into bigger discs again using either HiSpec brackets and discs or a complete upgrade using 4 pots etc...

How far do you want to go?

306 GTi6? With decent pads they will be great.

GTI-6 brakes are a great upgrade. Also, 266mm brake setups are a good choice as they'll fit under 14" vtr wheels (presuming you're still running them). Can be found on many PSA vehicles (306's/xsaras/berlingo's etc).

GTi/VTS fronts are the same - 247mm vented discs.

They're absolutely fine for road use, assuming decent pads, properly bled, etc. If you think yours are below par, just new plain discs (about £30 from rally design), Mintex M1144 or Ferodo DS2500 pads (under £50) and getting them bled through with new DOT5.1 fluid will do a world of good.

And adjusting the cross bar that operates the master cylinder ,this is very common to be set wrong and the pedal feel very long.
