rear beam on my 1.9 was shagged so brought a reconditioned 1.6 rear beam, lowered with uprated torsion bars instead. was wondering whether i could do away with the drums and fit disks to the back? anybody done this or know how?!

cheers.

The arms are identical as far as i'm aware so the back plates for disc's or drums bolt to the same mounting positions on each beam so should be interchangeable.

Braided brake hoses may be an easier way to get better feel though.

The only advantage we found with drums was a better hand brake, trouble is they wernt up to the abuse we gave the car on stage and they turned a nice blue colour when we got to service and that was after we snapped the handrake cables going into the first stage rolleyes
