well the 1.9TD has annoyed me too much and needs a few things doing to it so im selling it as spares or repair(if anyones interested let me know) but ive decided to go and look at a Activa later in the week, it looks well speced up and looks tidy, it has done 130k but has full history and a longish MOT, is there anything particular to look out for on these models?, do they burn oil for example?, is it basicly the same engine as an 8v 306 XSI with a turbo strapped onto it? as i had that 306 a few years ago and remember it burned oil when the miles crept up, that said i didnt look after it as well as i should have, as i didnt have much cash at the time, been a student and all.
also i remember reading someone got one to 200BHP pretty inexpensivly on here, how do you go about doing that?

Ive had mine for 2 weeks and apart from the little suspension niggles its great

The engine is the XU10 8v turbo. I think it may be slightly lower compression than an XSi engine but it is basicaly the same. Mine has only done 51k so and so far isnt using any oil, higher mileage's i dont know, well looked after and it may be ok.

These seem to run fairly low boost as they are and the ECU will handle upto a bar of boost before it cuts back, easy to do with a manual boost control. But i think 10-12psi is probably the true safest you can go. I'm looking to get into the ecu but looks like its not easy to chip.

You should be familier with the suspension but it does run more spheres than a normal Xantia due to the Hydractive part of it.

I think a few of us here have them now, cheap fun thumbup but dont tell everyone....

At the main boost pipe that goes to the throttle body there is a junction with an 8mm bore pipe that goes off to the electronic boost solenoid on the drivers side of the engine bay. If you plumb the bleed valve or manual boost controller into this pipe it should be ok, just make sure you get a boost gauge first.

Come over to http://z7.invisionfree.com/ActivaNet/
There is one for sale on there, top spec, but with minor panel damage, I would buy it If I didn't have one!
I got 202bhp from mine on the rollers, but I wouldn't recommend running at that all the time!
Niggles, if not used regularly it tends to dance, but keep it lubed up and used and it will never cease to amaze you, I've had mine over 4 years now and the novelty still hasn't worn off!!
They are one of the best built Citroens/French cars, nothing has fallen off mine, and the only things that have broke are things I fiddled with!!
The only down side I can think of is it's insane addiction to petrol!!
Visit the Activa site and there maybe someone close to you that will go along to check one out, or even let you have a play (but not mine, no one drives mine!!!!!)
