electrics arent my thing (time for rob the sparky to step up) but if you put 12v through it and it doesnt work that would suggest its buggered?

when you turn the key from position 2 to 3 does the engine turn over? if not, can you hear a click from the starter solenoid?

What year is it?

Do you have the fuel pump relay mounted above the gearbox under the black plastic cover? These were on the earlier cars, and can fail due to heat / dirt.

If the pump does not work when bridged, I think you may have found your enemy, however.

Tachyometric relay is prone to breaking and feeds the power to the pump. Need to find out what is your problem though, no feed or bust pump. The chances of it being both are slim.

So the fuel is being pumped around then?
otherwise I'd go for the Tachyometric relay
