ive always had a whirring noise from the day i bought it, from what i read it was a common "feature" of the 307. I get the whirring noise coming from the car usually when sitting at 45 in 4th. lately it seems to have got worse, is there a way of getting rid of it ?

I have a 307 HDi 110 dturbo and have not experienced any whirring noises. Been a good car all in all and is for sale so if you want a whir free drive give me a call!

Sorry I can't be of any help though.

Have you taken it to an independant garage for them to have a look at it?

Cheers

its been for a service and through a MOT at Peugeot and they didn't say anything. i've not taken it into a garage specifically for that fault. i just thought someone else may have had this and had it fixed. ok well i just have to leave it until i have it MOT'd again in January and see what they say.

I got a 306 gti-6 that does that, apparently its quite common. Im putting it down to a pump of some kind, maybe a/c compressor. Dont think its the power steering as the it dont get noisier when on full lock...
Check out 306gti6.com in the tech guide, it maybe under there. Just dont go reading to much into what they write as you will become a car hypocondriact!nerd
