just picked one up yesterday to save on traveling to work in the Range Rover, and the interior fan doesnt turn on, my guess is it needs a fuse but im not sure, also i didnt get an owners manual with it so i have no idea which fuse is which, if anyone could post up a picture or a link i would be very grateful, its a P reg 1.9 TD with a/c, i dont know if that makes a difference to the fuse layout or not.

this is 99% of the time the heater fan rheostat which is fitted to the motor assmebly it is available from gsf ,part no N17802.The only other thing i have found it to be is a faulty ignition switch but i you move thje key towards the start position the fan will cut in after a few seconds if the switch is dodgy.

thanks for the reply, it came in all on its own today but i couldnt adjust the level at which it blew, although i could change the directin it blew, the temperature, the a/c and the inside and outside air, then when i turned the car off again the fan stoped working.
shorted conection perhaps?

also to add and excuse my complete stupidity on this one but where do you put the power steering fluid?, ive looked under the bonnet and i cant find a resovoir for it.

It sounds like a heater fan motor that knackard. A new one cost about £99+VAT from GSF (PN-N93460). It's a fairly simple job to change it. A Citroen specialist should take no more than half hour to replace it. There's an excellent indepentant near Wokingham. If you want his details let me know. I'll have a look at mine tonight to see where the power steering is.....I can't remember.
Don't forget to check that the LHM fluid is at the correct level, as this does the suspension and breaks. It's on the right hand side of the engine near the windscreen. There should be a orange 'bulb' with two lines, the red thing should be between the two lines when the suspension it at the highest setting with the engine running.
If you've got any questions, let me know. I've has a Xantia for nearly 18 months and done 45k miles without it breaking down!! <Runs off to touch some wood>

No, lhm is particular hydraulic fluid for most citroen's it goes in the black tank on the nearside inner wing next to the strut top . The level is checked by putting the suspension onto its highest setting and the orange disc should be inbetween the two red lines,if its above it's overful not stuck.
Take it down to pete at pts and get him to look it over for you,he raced my car in this years 2cv championship and is a straight up bloke ,not cheap but won't rip you off.

You can get LHM from most car parts shops!
My old 1.9td is now my mums, it is now on 180,000!
I now have an Activa, which is coming up to 160,000, I hate to think how much money in petrol that is at £60 a tank doing 350 miles!!!

the Activa thats the 2 litre Turbo isnt it? meant to be a good engine that, and can easily be made up to 200 BHP just by turning the boost up a little.

Yup, thats the one, I got 202 on the rolling road, for the price of a Manual boost controller and filter, about £50, thats £1 per horse!!!
And now it is a very popular conversion for 205's

Just to clarify, There is no power steering fluid tank, it is all done from the LHM tank, along with brakes and suspension
