Just a quick question, why do Just GTIs pull the same trick that 911 Virgin do in not stating the milage of any of their cars? How irritating is that?

Are they to be trusted; has any one bought a car off them and are they the best place to go for a 205 GTI?

Answers on a postcard please...

Read up about them on 205GTIdrivers, slightly overpriced to say the least....maybe their reputation has got better recently.
You'd be better buying off www.205gtidrivers.com or www.psooc.com

What you are paying for at a specialist is comeback should anything major go pop. How much you value that I suppose depends on your ability to know a good car from a bad one.

As such I don't think you can really blame justgtis for selling a car you could buy out of the classifieds for around £1k, for £2k (or a bit more).

I would not pay a premium for a low mileage gti over one in better condition with many more miles.

They haven't got a great rep in the 205 world! After seeing a few of the cars they have sold various people I know, I would not buy one from them.

I bought a 1.9 from them and has been a joy to own, if that helps. I've always found them more than helpful and as garages go very efficient. As it was my only car (i.e. commuting) I was prepared to pay a bit of a premium to get a decent one.

And I guess therein lies the point! If people want to buy from places like 911 or just GTIS then thats up to them. My 205 originated from Just GTIs and its great, the best I could find and in great nick. I have dealt with them before and always found them fine!

Part of the problem is that some people do their own work as a hobby and maybe kind of resent that others have turned a hobby into a business... And yes, there is no doubt that if you do all the work yourself then it will be cheaper than a just GTIs car but many people cant be arsed or bothered so why no pay if someone offers a service?

In the end 1,2 or 3K for a useable car is peanuts for a car, you can throw them away for that money if they dont work, so who cares?

I used Just GTI's to fix my oil leak.

Just describing it over the phone he new what it was, job done in 15 mins and a new dipstick put in. Hardly any labour cost.

Can't complain really.

Cheers gents. Some good points but it'd be a weekend car if it all comes off so a good one would be vital as I don't have the time to be constantly fettling a bad one. Any more suggestions about sources, chaps?

Thanks

Dan

I bought my car from Just gtis. I'm sure i could have got it cheaper were it in a classified but as someone said earlier they offer a service and you pay. I'm very happy to pay that bit more and not buy a second hand problem.
