Ok, at the moment it seems i'm paranoid about every new noise i hear coming from my 205.
Recently ive been hearing a hissing sound from the rear of my car (the tyres are fine). Could this be a hole in the exhaust or something?
Driving it is fine and their seems to be no issues appart from this hissing sound.
Any thoughts?

it sounds like that the fuel pump next to the tank is a bit noisey never known one to have a fuel vent problem it should make a small psst noise when you take the cap off cause the injection tank will be slightly under pressure and i think you would have prolems filling it up with petrol if the vents were blocked cause as the petrol is going in the tank air inside the tank has nowhere to go thus shuting of the petrol pump at the station whilst filling up, i'm not saying its not the vents but this is normally the problem you would get if it was
Does it do this when you turn off the ignition?
If so it could be the Tachymetric relay not working, keeps the pump running.
Pull out no.14 fuse to see if the sound goes away once you've switched off.
The relay is located next to the ecu (drivers side under the dash) It's black in colour and attached to the ECU. The solder joints go, you could replace the whole thing or solder it up.
After all that typing I hope it's that!

The hissing sound is definately on the right hand side near the tank and does not continue after the ignition is turned off.
If i keep driving am i going to cause more damage?
I guess i still need to run the tank down any way, i'll remove the fuel cap tommorow to check for a air release sound.
Cheers
