did they come in rhd in limited numbers as everybody i ask seem's to have a different answer
i do actually work for renault but nobody seems to have a definitive answer rolleyes
i have seen 2 rhd versions in the past but dont no if they were genuine or convert's
people at work think i should just get a clio v6 but to be honest i think they should of plonked in a f4r turbo 4 pot. yes
dont have a problem with the v6. it was just the wrong engine choice in my opinnion
i would have to part with my griff if i did get one cry
did have a tuned gt turbo 13 years ago and always wanted a turbo 2
always remember barbara carrera looking very hot driving 1 in never say never again lick

LHD only. RHDs are conversions.
It's difficult to find a reasonable one for under £10k and £15 - 20 k is needed for a good one.... Which is why I still don't have one.

yes they certainly arn't cheap as with any car like that.
i did see 1 for sale at the renault world series £14,500 it wasnt the best 1 there but was still very nice
i have a few piccys if anybody would like to host them as i dont have a piccy host.
andy, perhaps keirv6, might lend us his for the day
only joking keirv6 some piccys of the beast would be nice though beer

Speaking from experience - having owned two R5 turbo2's and currently owning a phase 1 Clio V6. 'Buy the Clio.' I recently had an attack of nostalgia and spent £12K on an A reg LHD Turbo2. The thing still sounds great for sure, but after driving modern machinery you forget what turbo lag and torsion bars are all about. I sold it and bought a Vee.
I know its a big old lumpy engine and the handling can be somewhat 'surprising'...but at £10K for an early one and no reliabilty problems (save the crap coil packs) they are a bloody bargain. I took mine on the parade laps at WSR last week and had a hoot. The noise is great through an open system and parts are available.
Trust me the Turbo 2 is like meeting one of your hero's - dissapointing and best avoided. The Clio V6 to me is everything that the Turbo 2 should have been, and as it is not 20 plus years old I am not concerned that anything will fall off. Good luck either way. And yes all RHD were converted, some more successfully than others. Should only buy an original LHD in my opinion. Anything under £10K will be trouble.

i see were your coming from tony
the clio v6 is not to be sniffed at but i like 20 year old rattle baggs that bitts fall off
thats why i also love mk2 astra gte's rover sd1's and many other unpopular cars not that the turbo 2 is 1 of them
but im just a unloved cars type of guy hehe the v6 clio is a bargain and breaks the mold in true renault fashion.im with andy though and would still rather have a turbo 2

20 years old... So you like the new'ish stuff....

(the most modern of my 3 fun cars is an 81 Alpine A310... )

I can understand the draw of the Turbo2 - I will probably be suckered in to owning another one too, but I guess i have spent too many nights waiting for the AA man to come. Then there was the time that the ignition wiring caught fire under the steering wheel, not to mention the 3 times the coil lead lept off the distributor as it was too short, or the time that terminal bump steer put me on the wrong side of the road.....I truly forgive it all that. But I still feel happier owning the Clio even if it wasn't made in Dieppe. Each to his own I say.

I guess I've been lucky (touching wood as I type this!). In over 25 years of owning old renaults/alpines, I've only once been towed home. I have had a few 'fingers crossed' moments (and 'can you give us a bump start') but they've always done it. And I'm a pretty poor mechanic, so no roadside re-builds....

My car was at the WSR meet it was the black one.I have had it three years now and use it daily it has never let my down,i had a new 255 v6 and had nothing but problems and sold it within 6 month.

the ideal thing would be to own all of them hehe
mmm my gt turbo ate 6 g/boxes in 2 years amongst countless wheel bearings etc but it was farted about with
rac man new me personally but what an ace car it was and dont regret a minute of it
though that was over ten years ago and probably was a bit less kind to the car them days hehe
