Ok my pug 1.9 gtihas been having some steering trouble and likes to pull to the left, 2 simple sollutions- tracking and tyre pressures.

Now i dont want to book it in to get tracking done if its just tyre pressures!. Standard 185/55 15" = 29 psi, i have 195/50 15" michelin pilots.

Should they be at the same psi? as i only have them at about 24/25 psi and the steering feels wrong but surely if all my tyres are at 24 why would it pull to the left?

Guess it must be tracking.

I run 195/50/R15 tyres on teh standard 1.9 speedline alloys.

I run the pressures at 30 front 28 rear, works for me.

Tyre pressures won't make it pull one way or the other (unless they are wildly different side to side).

Tracking is the simple answer. If the steering does'nt feel right though it could be a worn track rod end, worn wishbone bushes or ball joint.

A decent tracking place would be able to tell you if any of the above are an issue before tracking it. I only paid £20 to have mine done (I had a new track rod end first).

Pumped up the tyres-bit better now cheers.

Doesnt pull to the left as much but the steering does feel sloppy, the steering wheel feels lighter and turns further before the actual wheels start to turn.

Any whos i've got it booked into a garage next week to get it sorted.

Cheers, Timmer.

My mums car was pulling to one side, I took it to top up the tyres, there was 5-10 psi difference, Lo and behold the journey home was a lot more direct!
24 seems very low to me, the tyres are not really designed to run like that, you will probably find the whole tyre has a mind of its own, simular to jelly!
