The standard exhaust on my 172 cup started to fall apart a few weeks back and after a bit of searching (and saving!) I plumped for a k-tec stealth exhaust.
This turned up on time and well packed, it was pretty easy to fit (if your mate owns a garage and is willing to let you use a ramp!). So far I'm very impressed, sounds much better and the car feels more responsive. I'd say its a little faster but that might be because I haven't been able to drive the bugger properly for three weeks!
All in all I'd say a good buy and I'd recommend it, anyone else used k-tec?
Cheers

My mate had a K-tec stealth on his cup. Sounded nice and subtle when driving arround town, but as soon as you opened the throttle it was an animal! Hes now got a Pro-speed straight through exhaust with decat and that is loud!!
Strange thing about the k-tec was the box in the centre of the exhaust was hollow!!

Hi Guys - have mk1 172 and after a visit to ktec - group n remap/ stealth exhaust and sports cat/ and viper induction - now revs to 7800, (70 in 2nd and 100 in 3rd) - bit droney at low speed - lovely at 75mph, and sounds just like a group n rally car at full chat. definiately faster, especially overtaking - as you can hold the gears.. 3rd is fabulous from 70 - 100.. not cheap at £1250.. but the car only cost me just over 4k..highly recommended
