Chaps,

An odd request, but I have a friend with a duff Renault Espace.

The problem is a lack of sparks, and I am trying to identify the wire colours leading to the coil (or, strictly speaking, the ignition amplifier which the coil bolts into.)

There are 5 wires, which are, from memory, as follows:

Orange
Black
White
Brown
Yellow (I think ... )

What are these connections? (I think that orange is meant to be live, and white earth, but am not sure what the others are. Does anyone have a wiring diagram, and can they help identify them?)

Thanks in advance,

Oli.

They should be on two connectors, 1 2 pin and 1 3pin.
The 2 pin is the trigger from the ECU, normally orange and white
The 3 pin is the supply, earth and tacho feed.
Yellow is always ignition feed, black is always earth the others vary with whatever is lying around on the factory floor.
If its an early one with carb then yellow and blabk remain the same, brown normally tacho feed and white orange from crank sensor.

Mr Jenks,

That is EXACTLY what I wanted to know - many, many thanks.

I owe you a beer, for sure.
