My steering wheel doesn't point 100% straight when the car is driving in a straight line, and there is evidence of a track rod end being replaced relatively recently, so I guess it's had work done on it.

Main thing is, when the rack is DEAD centre, is there any way to know? Or do most places just set the steering wheel straight then adjust the TRE's while the steering is locked?
Surely this messes up Ackerman and bump steer effects as potentially the rack is more one way than the other?

Basically I'm after somewhere who will do a *proper* alignment setup, ie people who know about setups, rather than your random "laser setup in the back mate £20" sort of place.

Just my car doesn't feel consistent doing a 1/4 turn left quickly as it does a 1/4 turn right quickly, almost as if one wheel is out a bit and gripping sooner harder one way or the other... (slight, but I'm a picky bugger and want it 100%)

Anyone with any recommendations that would be great.

Cheers

Dave

They look good.

Shame they are all 150+ miles away

Thanks for the link though, plenty of explanations!

You might try a power steering treatment ,as what you are reporting sounds like possible dirt in the pinion valve on the rack.I have just spent the last week trying to correct a zx with a similar fault, this did the trick after hours of tracking and strut top bearings etc.
