Anyone changed the centre section on a 306 hatch?

Is the centre section front clamp underneath the car or is it in a particularly inaccessible place requiring ramps?

As if I didnt have enough to do!

I'm sure it will be like mine, from the cat to the box, should be piece of cake, just soak it in penetrating fluid an hour or so before you try!

It has been a while since I did my 306 DTurbo one. If I remember correctly I did it by drving the front wheels up on a couple of chunky blocks of wood but there really wasn't much space. Ramps/jack and stands are probably the way to go.

If the clamp comes undone then the system will come apart easily but may be worth buying a new clamp first just in case. Makes for fewer swear words if it breaks!

reckon you'll probs need ramps/stands as the 306 is quite low adn you'll need plenty of room under there to move about.

after that its a peice of p1ss.

just make sure you have youself a set of new clamps cos the old ones will undoubtably be knackered

They are really easy to do, but you'd be best getting under it really. If you have a pair of ramps or two axle stands then you should be fine.

Just make sure you buy new clamps as usually they go all corroded, best to buy Pug ones too (better design and fit), and then cover the threads in copper slip/grease.

Not sure if the 1.4 has a centre section rubber or not, but you'll find out and again, really easy to drop off!
