Just wondering what the difference, as I can't get exact insurance groups or find what the difference is. As far as I can tell, the VTS has a small power increase over the VTR, but a huge insurance group hike!

Can someone explain the difference?

I have driven both and have to say the difference is much larger than the extra 20bhp appears.

VTR = 100bhp
VTS = 120bhp

The VTS really is much, much faster than the VTR.

Not sure what else is different as neither were my cars (my mum has a VTR and a friend has the VTS).

Hi Lee,

Nice car, I love Type R's Can I ask what the Saxo's like to drive? I assume it handles well as it seems pretty popular, but I don't know anyone who's driven one!

Thanks

Sold the Type R now mate as its not feasable to run anymore.

The VTR is a fun little car and can be highly entertaining while the VTS is fairly fast and can be a lot of fun to drive hard.

They both go around corners like they are on rails and are very cheap to buy and own.

The only downside of the Saxo is the image has gone to the dogs now all of the Nova boys are driving them.

I have been out in and driven both, the VTS is quite a lot faster it will keep up with the VTR off cam, and then they get interesting and nippy if you keep them on the boil up to the red line.
I belive the VTS came with a few more bits as standard (phase 1 at least) ABS and rear headrests etc.

but both do make realy goog cars.

But lets get back down to earth here. First Car. No NCB. Never driven in life. So, a group 10plus VTS Isn't the best option for the driver and Insurance purposes... If you like the Cit Sax then get the VTR first, or better the 'Westcoast' and 'Furio' editions(1.4 8v engine but look like a VTR/VTS.)
