I have just had a Megane as a courtesy car from Renault whilst the Lauguna was in for its weekly fix - This week was rear suspension bushes, rear parking sensor, reconnet rear wash, two new tailgate struts, sorting leak - next weak new gearbox. ( All I can say is I'm glad I'm not paying!!)

I thought the Laguna was bad, but the Meganes build quality takes the biscuit. I am genuinely amazed that people buy these cars when there are cars on the market in the same class that are in a completely different league in every aspect as far as I can see.

Can someone explain to me why people buy these cars? I am at a loss and seriously baffled as to the society we live in.

Thanks,

Paul.

It's called resistance to change but it baffles me too. People are used to a standard, even very low in the case of Renaults' build and quality, and don't realise that average cars are better then Renault, not to mention quality cars.

When someone gets angry, the dealer will simply offer a discount on a new car and the punter thinks he is getting a deal when in fact this discount will be half of what can be had with a broker, while they will also screw the customer on part ex.

Renault do not have a place on the automotive landscape in my opinion. The word rubbish is too kind.

And no I am not disgruntled , just pragmatic (despite being French).
