Is anyone here a member? I've registered over there in order to get information, and I can't seem to do anything. Do you have to wait for validation by a mod or something?
I registered last night, and now when I log in, I can't see any threads, can't edit my profile, can't search. I keep getting a message about not having permission to view this page.
When I log out and view as a guest, I can view the threads.

Hi there,
I'm now a member, and it took a while to get set up properly.
They state it may take up to a week as its just some bloke doing it in his spare time.
Stick with it, its a great forum.
Once you get a rallye though, stay away from the Parts For Sale section, your bank won't like you.....

Thanks for the reply. A week eh? Too late for me, I'm viewing on Saturday...
Mind if I ask you a couple of quick questions?
Cambelts - When do the 1.6 16v lumps need attention? (Manufacturers recommendation and actual!)
After market suspension - Cobra springs + Koni shocks. What is the consensus of opinion on these?
Thanks in advance
cobra springs? not head, probably poor.
the general opinion for 'road spec' is 20mm eibachs and bilstien sport dampers. obviously the torsion bar lowered to suit.
you'll want stiffer for track tho.
koni is good, advantage of adjustable, but runs short piston dampers so want 30mm-40mm lower springs. which is a compromise to handling, also when taking the torsion bar that low you really should uprate it, 23mm is good.
thats why most opt for the eibach/bilstien sport combo, its cost effective and works, doesnt require a major reworking etc. anymore and it costs (to do properly, which most dont!)
