Some members of the gti6 forum went there last year (some heavy track users), and found the marshalling and general safety a bit lacking.
However, the event organisers said it would be back on track this year!
Sounds like lots of people not used to track work were just let out to run and things got a bit iffy!

I might have to go along just to train the Marshals!
I will be there with a number of other Activa owners, were even having a stand and stuff!!
These sort of events (especially with "per-session" track use) always attract the inexperienced and overenthusiastic. Mostly they only pay for one session, go out with something to prove and don't care too much they get spoken to afterwards. I wouldn't take my car on track.

But to be honest, even on the specialist days you get people that can't drive, and sometimes even more so as they think they can instantly out pace Alonso the second they pick up the keys to the car, it is always possible to find your own space, accidents normally happen with the faster cars that don't show consideration for slower cars, and even some happen after the chequered flag!
If you got a fast car you shouldn't have a problem with idiots passing you anyway!
At Combe, at most we get 1 write off per action day, and that is with 30ish cars on the track, 15 min sessions for the whole day, you are more likely to crash on the way to or from the track!

I was out on track there last year. I didn't see/hear of any collisions out on track- and most of the driving in our session seemed sensible enough. The track is pretty boring though and is a tyre eater (especially the last corner before the pit straight!). Apparently, this year, the track layout is going to be more 'interesting'. I'll be out on track again this yer, but the show itself doesn't appeal to me very much as there is just too many '22" rimmed up jap bodyshitted funny coloured in the weeds' cars all around the place blasting out 'so solid crew' that you can hear when your out on track even when your at full chat! **No offence intended to those who like that sort of thing**
I've been there the last two years on track also. It does attract cars with a lot of additional fibreglass attached to them which I find quite amusing, fortunatly these mobile sound systems don't venture onto the track.
I went as part of the 205GTI drivers forum, we had our own track time which was quite safe. I had a nice LOOS moment at just under 100mph on the RH bend near to the 747, that was fun.
Narrowly avoided running over a piston too that had grenaded out of someones engine.
Brunters is a fast track (spelt, Airfield runway) which had some coned chicanes in for good measure and interest. However it is a highly abrasive surface so watch out for your tyres, also the petrol station is about 10miles away.
