Clio Steering Rack.
Discussion
It vibrates and pulls, necessitating continual correction and a lot of effort. There's also sometimes a lot of play. It's not the tracking, and it's been into 3 garages who say they can find nothing wrong. However after a large amount of googling, people with almost exactly the same problem had issues with their steering rack. It's 03.
cant recall any significant faults with that particular vintage clio assuming there are no other suspension issues that have been missed ie play in top mounts, easily overlooked on clio's. lower ball joint, rack arm's/tie rod's, has the car been repaired recently for any reason ie bodywork, or even sump gasket as this requires undoing of engine subframe and disconecting steering column,
i will check the puter tomorow at work for any bulletins regarding the rack but cant really recall any specific prob's to be honest but you never no
hope this help's

Doing a bit of googling relating to our unsolvable problem with the clio, and think it could be the steering rack being broken. Will this be covered under warranty, and if not how much. Also, can I view the rack, or does it require a dismantle to see it?
Might be able to help you with this one, does it always pull in one direction?
I've had the same problem on my 172, I took it for a full steering setup (not quick fit lol) was told that the camber was set wrong on the offside, and correct on nearside, hence the pull to the left, problem is that camber is not adjustable (set wrong at teh factory)
Guy was very helpful and suggested fitting aftermarket camber adjustment bolts, this would sort the problem.
