There's a couple of people on Williamsclio.co.uk with turbo'ed 16v's. BB tuning have a 250bhp Williams turbo apparantly. There's also a guy breaking a 16v turbo with uprated internals if you're after any parts...

Be interested to see pics when you're finished

By the way, how good is a Clio Williams ?
Are they really worth putting up with all the usual french cars niggles (squeaks, rattles, etc) ?

In a word, yes. I have a 16v which is surprisingly quick for a £1700 car - 0-60 7.2 and 137mph top end. The Williams has the same 0-60 time (due to having to change to 3rd to get to 60 - the 16v will do 62-63mph in 2nd), but it has much more torque throughout the range so is nicer to drive. Coupled with a wider track and the 'exclusivivity' (sp?) of a legendery limited hot hatch, it makes for quite a package. Group 17 insurance is a bit naughty though.

I've had my 16v for about a year and apart from general servicing, nothing has gone wrong and it doesn't rattle or squeak. Things to watch for though are wheel bearings and steering play. I've had 6 cars in my driving lifetime and I put it a second place behind a S14a 200sx when it comes to driving pleasure.

Cheers
Dave

KTEC racing were trying to sell their's on e-bay. I think in the end they'd have paid someone to take it away!

I didn't realise a VAG 20v would transplant into a clio! How much work does it take to make it fit?

Sounds like your well on your way to getting the car up and on the road.

Can i ask what gearbox your using and have you run the exhaust downpipe the same way as the valver runs and what the bore size is.

The engine is an AGU golf engine with an uprated K04 audi TT turbo and injectors. With an emerald ECU it should push 240-260 at the fly. I have also fitted the car with a manual rack and Wide track so should be fun on the track/road.

Its still got a long way to go.... don't think ill be doing another in a hurry...lol

o and the gearbox is a golf one with custome driveshafts

Resurecting this old thread, got directed here by google smile
Really interested in doing a 20v Mk1,
Any more help you can give? How does that O/S mount work with the golf G/box mount? How much did shafts set you back if you don't mind me asking, and where from? Is the Gearbox mount 100% fabrication? nice work BTW, must be finished now?
