My opticians other half has one if that helps. She said he had alot of difficulty getting it, so must be pretty rare indeed.

Did they come both with windscreens and without, or is it a removable thing?

The Renault Spider was initially introduced with no screen, and I believe that Renault had to add a screen to sell them.

They of course have a Clio Williams engine and whilst I believe around 100 were made, they hung around for a long time.

For the full facts, I can only suggest that you contact Renault themselves.

Nearly correct, just add the word 'in the uk' to the end.

Having been in both with and without windscreen models, Without is much better.

The real problem is that they have no space for luggage and the Uk rarely has the weather (or roads) to really have fun. If you want to see the best of one then you really need to get it across to the french alps or southern germany/austria/italy/switzerland area in the spring/summer.

I know gemini has one on this site. Saw it at Cars in the Park, Bolton Abbey.

A couple on autotrader, just looked.

Quote - "one of only 200 UK RHD examples"

Just seen this forum
Oh somewhere new to play

200 made for RHD - most in Japan AFAIK
Me and eddie went from TVR to Spiderland

I love it - what a car and it certainly pulls a grin or two!

Yep. Having said that, a windscreen wouldn't necessarily have stopped it.

Most spider drivers on the continent (without screens) put their crash hats on for autobahns as a small pebble does a lot of damage. Especially to eyeballs...

If you had a screen and got struck by a wheelnut it would still do some serious damage.

There was a lovely yellow one at the Renaultsport trackday at Cadwell in October.

I looked at these afew times, but a decent one is around the 15 to 20k mark, a lot of money for me on a 'spare' car. One day though.
