cambelt change BX GTi - specialist
Discussion
I'm considering a 1990s BX GTi (8V) that I understand has the same engine as the Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi.
The cambelt is of an indeterminate age so best practice would be to get it swapped.
I do a lot of stuff myself on cars usually, brakes, suspension, electrics etc but thought it prudent to put this out to a specialist. Only, they seem to be invisible in the West Midlands. I thought at least there would be 205 Gti specialists but a search only returns lots of VW specialists. The BX is rare now, I accept, but the 205 isn't. Do owners all do them at home?
If you have a Porsche, Jag or TVR, there are lots of specialists but not for French GTi cars? Nearest I've found is JAC Autos in Alvechurch who haven't given me a quote yet. Perhaps any garage could do it (special tool needed perhaps?) but in case of quirks, I'd hoped to find a specialist.

Where are you based?
It's not a difficult job and doesn't require any specialist tools. Loads of guides on the internet (look for 205 ones). You could definitely do it yourself in half a day. Any competent local garage should be able to do it.
If you want someone with previous experience, again look for 205 specialists. In the midlands there is Spoox in Leicester and Pug1Off towards Bicester. I'm sure that there are others but I haven't had a 205 for about 20 years
