2022 Clio windscreen replacement
Discussion
First of all I have to say this car , E-tech hybrid, is absolutely fantastic, and I don’t often give such praise unless well earned.
I had a stone chip and subsequently the windscreen cracked necessitating replacement. My insurance company, since changed to another policy and company upon renewal, organised messrs Autoglass, to fit a replacement Pilkington screen at their depot with me contributing the excess of some £140.
To cut a long story short, the rain sensing no longer works as the sensor keeps coming off the lug on the inside of the screen. It’s been back 3 times since and the last fitter said that the problem was the bracket on the screen not compatible with the rain sensor and an alternative ie Renault screen would need to be sourced. This is where I am stuck at the moment with being fobbed off by their customer services and warranty team as to what they are going to do about it.
Was just wondering if anyone else had suffered the same issue and what was the result. To say I am I unimpressed with Autoglass would be quite an understatement.

Same thing happened to me on an RS Megane 2022 I just bought the Renault OEM windscreen at trade prices then paid £400 to get 2 experienced fitters to come out only took them 20 mins good as new (apart from more stone chips since!).
Insurance company would only approve some cheap autoglass made in china replacement.
When the insurer contacted Renault UK the quote from Renault was £2572 for the windscreen alone ROFL so I bought it trade price from a dealer the whole thing cost me about £1100 all in but my sensors kept working no need to get it recalibrated by autoglass (which they say is a 4 hour job LOL I would not leave my RS with them for 4 mins!).
Your insurance company will only ever cover a cheap made in china autoglass replacement! you have to be proactive DIY source the part(s) hire an experienced fitter to do its an easy job can even DIY but best to get the pros to bond it for you!
