Our 508 hybrid is up the spout. Turn the key and it either just runs on electric, or it just runs on diesel. It can no longer switch between the two or indeed use both simultaneously. The gear changes are now "entertaining" as it usually smooths them out and fills in the power gap by using the electrical system. But with that bit not working, now it disengages the gear and rolls for a while before it engages the next gear ... and on a steep hill that can mean rolling to a standstill before it gets into 2nd.

So, I'm hoping someone can recommend a competent repair shop that knows something about Peugeots and has access to the right diagnostic kit and tooling to fault-find, reset the damn thing's computers, etc.

I'm on the Shropshire/Powys border, but am perfectly happy to take the car some distance to get it repaired.

Our local franchised Peugeot repair shop is absolutely hopeless. They can't actually troubleshoot anything; they just suggest randomly replacing parts. They also ignore what you ask them to fix and try to sell you new brakes you don't need.

I don't mind taking the car to an official dealer, a franchised repair shop or an independent. I just want to find someone who is competent and honest.

So did anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

http://autosolutions.uk.com/ Contact Mike Butler, I’ve known him for many years. He is a Peugeot Boffin, his workshop has all the up to date diagnostic tools. He is about 10 mins off J13 M4, well worth the trip.
