Renault outside temperature sensor

I've got a '93 Safrane, but I think it is the same as other Renaults of that vintage in that the outside temperature sensor should be in the RHS wing mirror.

My dash reads 60C outside temp at all times, so I assume the sensor is dead. The problem I have is that I can't find it - can't tell if I'm looking in the wrong place or it's missing.

So, could anyone with a similar vintage Renault show me their sensor in the wing mirror please, so I can check where it should be?
