I'm considering one of these as a replacement for my 2019 Suzuki Swift. I want something with better motorway fuel economy and a nicer interior. The Clio looks like good value for money.

A few questions (to owners and/or people more knowledgeable than I am) that I'd appreciate help with:

1. Is the 1.6 E-Tech basically a Nissan unit? If so, which Nissan cars have it?

2. Is it proving to be reliable?

3. Would it get anywhere near the official 60+ MPG on a mainly-motorway, 30-miles-each-way daily commute?

Thanks in advance. smile

No idea, but with the 0% finance, these look very good value with the crazy price of second hand cars at the moment.

Cash price £21,695
Customer deposit £3,236
Total amount of credit £18,459
Monthly payments £229
Optional final payment £12,963
Total amount payable £21,695
Duration 25 months
Representative APR 0.0% APR
Fixed interest rate per annum 0.00%
Annual mileage 6,000 miles

However, I still cannot believe it is £21,695 for a Clio, I bought a brand new one 20 years ago and it was £8800.

I saw that. I'm amazed any manufacturer's still offering 0% finance, even if it is only for two years.

Yes, £20k for a Clio seems wrong, as does £30k for a Zoe.

Great cars these and we sell plenty, in answer to your questions:

  1. I think it's origins go back to early 2000's, as far as I'm aware it is a Renault unit, which has been extensively used across both Renault, Nissan and Dacia.
  2. Yep no issues.
  3. Claimed average mpg is achievable, I used one for a while, I do a circa 25 mile round trip commute, half of which is a 3 lane A road, plus I used it for personal use too, I was averaging late 50's mpg whilst not trying to.

That's really helpful. Thank you.

Renault have advised a lead time of six months so I'm now looking at what's available on the used market.

6m is about right, prepare to pay not a million miles off list for a used one, we sold our year old demo for £1k less than list.

And what is the APR% on used cars? I assume it is actually going to cost more in the long run to buy a year old one than a brand new one?

Yep you assume correctly, currently we are at 9.9% APR.

If I was buying a used one, I'd get a personal loan rather than using Renault's PCP. It's what I did with the Swift. The loan rates I was offered were much better than any used APR I could find.
