In the process of changing cars, and 2016-18 Gti is on my shopping list, it seems that they come as standard and prestige, I guess this adds the sunroof and satnav?

What does the Peugeot Sport add apart from the seats? It looks like they don’t have satnav?

What are the running costs like? And is there anything I should watch out for?

Thanks smile

I can only speak for the more focused 30th anniversary and by peugeot sport (bps) versions. I bought a bps about 3 months ago.

The 30th anniversary came with,

Pug sport bucket seats
323mm 4pot brembos
Softer front and stiffer rear rollbars
Stiffer springs
Stiffer dampers
Wider track
Spherical bearings in the front control arms
Michilin supersports
Torsen LSD
A load of styling changes and different alloys.

The BPS is basically a facelift 30th. Accept instead of it being a limited edition it was an option. Everything else that was upgraded is the same and you get the updated facelift looks and infotainment.

I may be biased, but I'd push for a 30th or BPS the LSD makes the car. And the way it's setup is really focused, think Clio sport cup but with a diff, (that's a compliment) few weeks ago at brands hatch I was overtaking m140s and a mk3 foucs RS. In a little 208.

It's ones of the best cars I've Owned. Did 44mpg driving to the track then lapped all day with out a single issues and still managed double figures on track. Whilst also being super engaging to drive.

My only negative would be mine is Abit stiff as a daily. But I think a set of Bilsteins would sort that. Mine is a second car and I'm a old Rodger these days.

Should add the 30th/bps is tail happy the rear axle I'd properly mobile these are my rears after a 10-12lap stint.

I really like the look of the bps, my concern is I want a car focused more on the day to day, rather than the track. I suspect the ride is like a Renault Cup chassis?

I remember hearing some engine reliability issues with the early ones.

They're getting to the price where I'm very interested.

I've had a BPS since July, it's a quite a quick little thing. The diff is great although the ride is a bit stiff around town. My wife is currently using it to get to work while waiting for her new car and she hasn't conplained about the ride, in fact she seems to quite like it judging by the way she tears off in the mornings.

It's a tough one, I'd say it's Abit stiff as a daily. But then the trade off when you get a clear road is sublime. It's only annoying at low speed really. It's otherwise quite well damped for the British B roads.

There pretty reliable cars to be honest. The only major things I've heard about is carbon build up in the inlet ports (applies to most direct injection engines) and the timing chain tensioners can go but you will hear this well before there's a catastrophic failure. Some cars also suffer with paint blistering. My car has one or two on the roof that I missed when viewing but apparently alot of cars had it all over.

Like anything look for one that's well serviced and and I think you will be really happy with it. There also really rare. I think there's approx 400 bps and 5000 gtis. The equivalent fiesta st sold into the 20,000's

That does look nice. I like them in white the black bits are set off nicely with the white.

Where are you based? You're welcome to have a look at mine and we can go for a spin. I'm near Southampton

Another thumbs up for the BPS, I’ve had mine since June as a daily driver and it’s been brilliant. As others have said the low speed ride is quite firm but it makes up for it on a good twisty road (that diff is fantastic!). I’ve put about 8k miles on mine and it’s been largely faultless other than the infotainment screen switching off randomly - probably the worst part about the car, I’d much rather a regular radio with no screen!
