Renault Clio III - electrical plug by handbrake

Bonjour.

Inherited my mother-in-laws Clio. I've got this stray plug by the handbrake.
The handbrake light on the dashboard works.

Any ideas?

It looks like the coin holder thing is where the switch for the cruise control/speed limiter is on my 200. So maybe the wiring for it is there, but not used on a lower model. Can't think of anything else that is in that area.
