Need new Peugeot race engine
Discussion
Hello
can you recommend some Peugeot or race prep specialists that can build me a 106 GTI engine and complete an engine swap. My race 106 8v rallye engine went bang over the weekend and cannot be repaired. So am looking at upgrading to a GTI engine.
I am aware of Pug1off, Spoox, who else is reputed.
Ideally Thames valley area/Oxfordshire. But if I can get a list of people to approach I'd be grateful.
thanks

When we were running Peugeot GTi rally cars every body had a Skip Brown engine. http://www.skipbrowncars.com/ That was a few years ago but give them a try.

thanks - doesn't do 106 engines. Has recommended Brett Sims. Anybody know anything about him?
No personal experience myself but do know a couple of people from the Ford social pages that have had some cylinder head work done via him over the years and never heard any complaints. A friend used to run a track prepped 106 GTI and the previous owner had used Brett for the top end rebuild based on the receipts and the engine never let him down in the couple of years he owned / tracked it.

in the end, I contacted handful of people - by phone, messenger or email. Most did not reply and those that did either weren't interested or were far too busy to even give a date where they might be able to start.
So I have bought a 16v engine from a scrapper and am currently learning how to do an engine swap, taking the necessary preventative measures such as cambelt changes and bearing replacement. I am nuts deep in in the project at the moment. Hope to have my first go at starting it by the end of the Jubilee weekend. ( wiring looks a challenge though).
