Renault Clio Mk3 self-centering Steering Question
Discussion
I've just bought the missus a 2006 Mk3 Clio 1.6 Automatic with 70,000 miles, new Mot, good history etc.
I've not had a Clio before and didn't test drive this before I bought it as the private seller wasn't keen.
The issue I have is that the steering wheel seems to self-centre quite firmly. ie, when you turn a corner you can feel the steering wheel trying to turn back to the central position.
I think we can probably get used to this but it was a bit of a surprise and overall the steering feels fine although it maybe pulling to the right slightly.
Is this normal on Clios?
Thoughts and advice appreciated as always,
Many thanks.

I've had a mk3 Clio and I don't remember the steering being overly keen to self-centre, although for sure it is set up to self-centre more than on some other cars I've driven, especially VWs. It's an electric rack on the mk 3, so maybe it is doing something funny if it seems overly heavy.
With regards to pulling to one side, that can be down to the tracking, or to unevenly worn tyres.
