My current DS7 Crossback is 4 years old in April and has been fantastic.

Today I ordered the new 2022 model DS4 e-tense to replace it. Delivery due in or around March. Really like the looks and styling and being plug in hybrid I feel all green and cuddly.

They look fantastic.

Big fan of DS. I have a DS7 in the Louvre spec, it is fabulous and honestly the best car I have owned. I have to whisper that quietly on pistonheads given the other car is an Alpine and I have had some wonderful exotica over the years. But the big DS with Smooth Chill on the radio, the wonderful watch strap seats with wave massage on, it is fabulous.

I have no idea what I would swap it for. And I am seriously thinking of trading the alpine for a ds9 or ds4 so interested to follow your view on the 4.

Think electric will be the making of the brand really.

Funnily enough I listen to smooth chill almost all of the time.

The DS4 will have the scanning suspension, heads up display, adaptive cruise and all sorts of things.

I'll get a charge point installed at home and I'll gladly be sharing impressions when it gets here.

Smooth chill very much suits the DS. It takes its time to do everything, just getting into it relaxes me in a way no other car ever has. The brand has really got under my skin.

I do think when it does fully electric it will only make the brand better. They are not cars to be hustled around. If they keep up with these magnificent interiors, the great design touches, and match that with silence and beautiful suspension they will do just fine.

Thats how I drive my DS7 and how I anticipate driving the DS4. I love in North East London and I'm in traffic just about every time I drive anywhere.

I've done the driving on 2 wheels round the lanes some decades ago and now can't be bothered.

I hope the DS4 has as tiny a turning circle as the 7. Makes parking and tight car parks a doddle.

The only criticism of the DS4 I have seen is that it's not ideal for pressing on down the lanes. Not bothered by that. The interior looks particularly splendid.

Very keen to hear your experience of the DS4 OP. They look fantastic - IMHO the best DS design to date, and the first one where they have really found their feet.

Hi there

Did you get it delivered in March or did it get delayed. Mines coming May.

Just curious as I have yet to see one on the UK roads yet.

Also yet to see a 4 or a 9 on the road. Can’t see them selling more than 50 ish 9’s in the U.K. 9 uses the old kit in the 7 whereas the 4 is all new stuff. Saying that I am tempted by a 9 just as they are such a left field choice.

the 4 should do better for sales but needs a full electric version to really push it and take people out of ID3’s etc.

My DS4 was apparently built on 24 March with delivery scheduled for about 3 weeks time.

From what I gather they have sold 400 DS4s with the majority being fleet sales. They don't have any in the country yet so we are being given a walk away option if we don't like them in the flesh. I've gone for a 225 performance line plus e-tense hybrid. Should be getting the home charger installed before the end of April and DS give a £400 grant towards it.

I saw the pre launch DS9 and it was nice enough but rather bland and expensive. They aren't bothered by UK sales though. Made in China they expect to sell as many a month in China as a whole year in the whole of Europe.

That is not bad for a niche car that is not even on sale yet. It would be interesting to see how the sales compare versus the Lexus UX which IMHO is a close competitor in the "smallish, characterful, non-German SUV" segment.

I ordered a performance plus etense last month. Dealer says they only had access to a slot of 100 on the production line. My car has been marked as dispatched from factory and i'm expecting a delivery in May. I believe the DS Salons only got their showroom models last week and Demonstrators are ready this week. But demand is huge and the 2022/2023 price guide has went up along with the APR from most dealers.

I saw and drove one yesterday. It was a Cross version in Rivaling trim level but had the same running gear as my Performance Line Plus model that is due in this week. Same colour too, Copper Gold.

Loved it. Obviously smaller than my DS7 but felt very very modern. Very happy with my choice and now excited about imminent delivery.

i test drove the cross yesterday as it was the only 225 etense they had. That engine is superb and the gear changing is seamless. loved it

Hi All

Thinking of ordering one of these have a choice of 2 on the DS programme, I'm coming out of a 5008 so space is going to be an issue but think they look really nice and on the scheme I'm on they are cheap for me.

Its between this and a 3008 GT Line Premium which is cheaper by £25 a month

DS 4 Rivoli PureTech 225 Automatic

DS 4 CROSS Rivoli PureTech 225 Automatic

I'm swaying towards the CROSS with the Lacquered grey.

Is the room decent in the back? no dealers have one by me to try, I've got 3 young kids but we rarely go out as a family and the wife has a 2008 which if need be would fit us in smile

Just really fancy one.

The only difference between cross and other models is a bit of external trim. I've driven an etense cross abd looked at a Rivoli. Didn't think the Cross trim added anything and I'm opting for Performance Line +.

I didn't look closely in the back but the video reviews I've seen suggest it's not bad. I will have 2 child seats from Grandbabies in mine. In the flesh they are really great looking and feel very modern. I'm coming from a DS7 so it's going to be smaller. I like the alcantara trim over the leather.

Last update is mine should be with .e in 2 weeks. My Podpoint charger was fitted this week so I'm good to go!

I've placed my order!!

I went to see one on at the Birmingham site and was convinced it was to small in the back, I decided to order a 3008 GT Premium instead, by the weekend it was playing on my mind so loaded the kids up and went down to the showroom where they had a Lacquered Grey La Premiere in, kids fitted fine width ways, leg room not so good but they are 4,7 &9 so not a major issue.

I've just cancelled my order on the 3008 and ordered a "CROSS Rivoli PureTech 225 Automatic" in Lacquered Grey.

Couldn't get the E-tense on my scheme but still happy with the 225.

I tend to see the live updates on my screen as its linked to the old PSA systems so normally get the VIN and Shipped status live when its left the factory so will give me an idea on delivery times.

Heard the the E-tense models have been put back to September builds for existing customer orders.

That's great news, it was just what the sales guy said. Could be ones ordered more recently
