Hello all,

I have a new Dacia Duster with Renault's 1.0 TCe 100bhp engine. Very nice it is too.

The service interval is listed as annual or 18,000 miles. As I do around 20,000 miles a year, it would need servicing before twelve months have elapsed, but 18,000 miles seems far too long to me. We've all heard about turbocharged engines thriving on fresh, clean oil.

Is there any perceived wisdom from people with more experience of this engine around what sort of miles it should cover before changing the oil?

6,000?

9,000?

Thanks in advance.

No experience of that engine but if you do 20,000 miles per annum then I would be inclined to do the main service at 18,000 miles in order to stay within manufacturers recommendation for the warranty and also do an intermediate oil change at 9,000 miles.
