Hi Folks,

Need to replace the rear discs on my 275 Cup S (2016 model) as a stone has got stuck between the pads and badly scored one of the discs.

Looked up replacements and there is a vast difference in price.

Renault ones are £330 a pair but these ones are only £33 each!

Obviously not as good but I don't track it. Any suggestions as to what to go for. Will needs pads too - and the same discrepancy in price exists.

I wouldn't skimp on your discs, especially the rears as the bearings are integrated into them which is why they're so expensive. Personally I would only buy OEM/Brembo.

George at RTR Parts looks like your best place for price at the moment https://www.roadtrackraceparts.com/renault-oem-bra...

Thanks.

My bad - foolishly I selected front axel rather than rear in the example I posted, which explains the massive difference in price!

I'll bite the bullet and get the Brembo ones.

Frustratingly my other half has been using the car for a while and it was only when I drove it the other day that I realised something was not right.

Mentioned it to the wife and she said "Oh yes, there has been a bit of a funny noise but I forgot the mention it".

Had I caught it early I could simply have got the stone out of the pads but the disc is totally buggered now.

That's annoying although if they're the original discs on the car, they might not be far off needing replacing anyway.

I've been using Autodoc for a few years now but as they're based in Germany, I don't know if there's new import duties thanks to Brexit so worth looking into if you're going to order from them. So might be best to order in the UK to avoid additional costs when they arrive.

Also have a 2016 Cup - S . Bought my replacements from Kam Racing previously.

Toyed with buying these but didn't in the end as never really heard of them.

Have used Renault Parts Direct ( which I think is operated by Fish Brothers Renault in Swindon ? ) before also :

Just discovered the car now has an oil leak from the cam cover as well as needing the cambelt etc replacing shortly......... Have ordered the full cambelt replacement kit from Kam Racing which comes next week and have been trying to get a garage to fit it ( and fix the oil leak ) which has proved not so easy. Redcar Performance Centre are now going to do it along with an early 6 year service when the kit arrives.
Will then have to look at replacing the rear discs/pads at some point as they are making a horrible squeal having had the fronts done last month and also getting the cold start intermittent misfire sorted. So I think I will be cancelling Xmas this year smile. Annoying when the car is standard, never been tracked and has only done 21,000 miles.......
