Any car is rare where its cohorts all rusted away.
My sister had a Charleston which I always thought was the classiest special.
proper early Charlestons were built to the 'Club' spec, so had square headlights, bigger speedo, different upholstery and some fancy hinge cappings (and an ashtray!)My sister had a Charleston which I always thought was the classiest special.

Coming round to the idea of another 2CV. Where's a good place to start looking?
Quite a few groups on Facebook (2cv & friends, 2cv and derivatives parts for sale wanted). a good place to start looking? is for rust in sills, floor, chassis.
Beware a shiny Dolly on eBay that has just undergone a 'restoration' that will invariably had a blow over and a new roof, there are plenty out there.

I believe all Charlestons had round headlights. My sister bought hers in 1981 in maroon and black with chrome round headlights.
The original 'limited edition' of the Charleston (burgundy & black) was released with square headlights, when it proved to be a popular it was introduced to the normal model range and the round chrome headlight pods were fitted, alongside the yellow and grey paint variants. The Bamboo is quite rare in that:
1. It was a factory special edition for the UK market only, at the same time the German and Dutch markets got a two-tone green (similar to Charleston but green) with a duck theme.
2. I think they only made 400?
3. Unlike many special editions, it is listed on the V5 as a model variant (well mine is!)
