I don't know for that car specifically, but higher octane (i.e. Shell Optimax or BP Ultimate) is only ever a good thing for any car, the key is whether you get any benefit for the extra cost. Typically on more performance oriented engines it is not only desirable but can give another couple of miles per gallon so offsetting the cost as well as being good for the car. Personally we (me and partner) only run our modern cars on higher octane, including her weekend Mini 1.6.
