Hi folks!

I had a Clio 172 back in the day and loved it, but since I have got older and now have a dog and wife, I need something just a little more practical. I love the idea of the auto RS Clio (I have a bad knee so manuals are trouble) but the suspension on my old 172 was very hard. My current Mini cooper S is also really hard. Is the RS Clio Turbo a bit of a softer ride than the old Clio 172? My mini is so harsh it has killed my back and I need something a tad softer!

Thanks!

Been quite a while since i test drove one, but they are softer than the MK7 Fiesta ST, although i never found the Ford to be anywhere near as bad as people were making out anyway. The best advice would be to go and drive one and see what you think, but it should definitely be more compliant than a 172.

They're great cars and I'd ignore the bad press on them. The gearbox was pretty good IMO and they're also really quite a rare sight on the roads.

The Clio RS200 is quite soft (especially in non-cup) guise and easy to live with.

I have a Clio Trophy 220 which I bought in June last year after owning a couple of Abarth Competizione’s
I was genuinely surprised at how comfortable the car is, given the low factory ride height. The driving position is spot on and despite some reviews, the gearbox is great with plenty of options on how you want to use it.
