Wonder if any Megane drivers can help.

We’ve got a 2015, GT220 Megane, last of the old shape and a great car with the RS engine. Not many of these around so hard to get an answer.

The car has the RS engine retuned to 220 bhp as well as some of the running bits. Superb bit of kit and out drives the Golf GTI it replaced in so many ways.

However the clutch pedal is very heavy, especially compared to the Golf and previous 1.6 Megane we had. Dealer and clutch specialist say it is fine.

I’m guessing the RS has a heavy clutch then as standard or is ours sticking?
I wondered if I could replace the clutch pedal unit to one with a lighter pedal, like the 1.6, or is it not possible due to master cyclinder/clutch size etc?

Any RS owners offer any advice?

not a renault owner but possibility of a uprated clutch and flywheel? I run SMF conversions in most of my modified cars and they are heavy.

Thanks I’m thinking it is exactly that. Might be a full RS clutch but never driven one to compare.

Renault Sport products are notorious for having pretty stiff and heavy clutches. If it's the same clutch from the Megane 250/265/175, which i assume it is, then it's perfectly normal.
