Cam belt on 2012 Clio
Discussion
First car for my son is a 2012 Clio 1.2 - so only 75 bhp but a reasonable first car. It has done 41k miles but I cannot see any evidence of a cam belt change.
Whilst the mileage is quite low, it should have had the cam belt change by now. It may have been done but as with many cars in a “budget” price range, service history is a bit patchy
How urgently should this be addressed - I know it is not a massive cost but from what I can see of the belt, it looks ok. I am trying to decide whether to get it done immediately or wait until a service or not is due
Would you take the risk or just swallow the cost?

If the car has Renault service history and it was replaced by a dealer, then your local Renault dealer can look up on the national system to see if a cambelt change is recorded on there, problem is not everything is recorded on it, it's a case of it being only as good as the information inputted but it's worth an ask.
Alternatively PM me the reg and I can look this afternoon, I'm now on furlough until lockdown ends but I do have to pop in briefly at around 14:00 to pick something up, I can look then.
