I'm trying to help out a vulnerable neighbour who has been isolating for the last two months so not my car but it has the following symptoms its a 207 1.4 Diesel about 48k miles:

Front screen wash not working (but rear does so not fuse or empty) and intermittent drivers window not opening but when it does its OK not stiff/jerky etc. Also PLIP warning is up but c/locking still works OK.

Car starts OK but has been standing unused for 2 months, battery hasn't been disconnected. So the question is could it be the BSi suffering a spike from low voltage while standing (or during first start up). Do you think a BSi reset might help or are these likely to be separate issues? Struggling to see a reason why washer pump would work in one direction but not the other. I've never done a reset on a Peugeot are their any risks to trying it as I say not my car.

Have you checked the front washers are not blocked? The pump reverses for the rear so is probably Ok. The window switches are problematic ,if it works sometimes it is more than likely the switch.
I don't think BSI reset would do any good.

Thanks yes I 'm beginning to think its nothing to do with the BSi just coincidental issues, (he originally told me the windows weren't working at all, there again when I asked him what year it was he told me he told me 1908!) The jets are OK I disconnected the pipe to check.
