Renault Clio mk2 Radio Fault

Hi,
I have a mk2 Clio and have an issue with my Pioneer headunit - however I suspect it’s the cars fault. On many occasions the head unit appears to have no power at all. Then will sometimes power on. I have noticed that when the radio will not power on the orange lights around the heated and fan speed controls do not work either. I suspect it to be the wiring harness to the radio behind the dash.
Has anyone else experienced this on their Clio and if so, how difficult is it to fix the wiring harness?
