Bought a "long term" Clio RS 200 - advice needed
Discussion
Hi guys,
I just bought a 2010 Alien Green non cup Clio RS in good condition, all original paintwork and reasonable mileage (140K km/90K miles). As it's the last of its kind I hope to hold to it for a long time, especially as the car will probably cover around 5K miles a year. Is there anything I should do to make it last? I'm doing the gearbox synchros and thinking about rustproofing it, anything else?
TIA,
Michal

Photos? Was it the ex press car that was for sale or that other one that was for sale recently just interested?
Google will tell you what you need to know. Just enjoy it and maintain it. If the gearbox goes then refurb it.
Not sure the clio 3 has rust issues at the moment??. Get behind the body work and see if theres any possibility of damp in the inside of the rear quater panels like the Clio 2 has where moisture buildup can be a problem. Under the side skirts etc.

If you're planning on keeping it and using it then this looks like a good investment.

But then clios don't tend to rust. The big issues are usually dephasers and gearboxes. After that it's just the usual bushes and suspension components. Do these have the same issue with top mount bearings that the 1*2's do?
And to be fair, these cars are so light the bushes get an easier life than most.
Where are you based? I've been using AW Motorworks in essex to look after my 172 and i can't recommend them highly enough.

The only photo I have
It's not the UK press car, I'm based in Europe and it's imported from Germany. Does anyone how many of those (Alien Green) were made? They seem to be rather rare.

55 or 56 were made in Alien Green IIRC. I'm on my 3rd Alien Green 200. Glutten for punishment lol. It's not the UK press car, I'm based in Europe and it's imported from Germany. Does anyone how many of those (Alien Green) were made? They seem to be rather rare.
