Almost certainly not a plug and play swap, they never are.

Will it physically fit? Quite possibly, given the 106/Saxo is a platform share.

After it's in, you'll have a 1.6 with a whopping 90bhp, 1.1 brakes and 1.1 suspension.

Why not save the pain and buy a VTR (or even better a VTS)?

First rule of modding: Always start from the fastest standard car.

Fancied a challenge but only if it was reasonably straight forward I’ve had a VTR before and loved it like driving a little go kart so thought would be a good challenge 🙈😂

Yes it's plug and play, as long as you get a post 1997 CTR with the 3-plug ECU, rather than the single plug.

Awesome cheers bud you sound like you’ve done it before? Do you think I can use all my wiring/electrics and ecu? Fuel lines etc? So for instance if I bought a second hand bare VTR engine (post 97) could I use all my 1.1L bits and bobs and all?

Yep, done it on a 106, although not a 1.1 to VTR, the principle is exactly the same.

You need the engine, ECU and wiring loom from the donor. Remove the old engine, mate 1.1 gearbox to it, then drop it in. The wiring will connect to the 3 plugs on the passenger inner win chassis leg.

The reason to keep your old gearbox is that the ratios are significantly better than the long-geared VTR.
