Hello French Breeders !

I am stuck with the simplest of tasks and know that there
is someone out there who would love to save an idiot in need
on a Saturday afternoon.

The Battery on my 2010 Pug 207 CC has died and I wanted to
take it out to charge it
BUT
The only info I have is from a Haynes Manual for Pugs up to 2009.

I have seen some discrepancies with other aspects of the job but
the statement "Release the securing clip tilt the battery towards
the engine" is impossible.

I have leaned the Clip in the photo below in an attempt to free the
battery up but there is absolutely no movement whatsoever and it feels
as if it is attached or clipped elsewhere.

Does anyone have any (reasonable) suggestions ?

Ta very much (y)

This may be too late, but after a couple of attempts & some more research I may have the answer!

It appears that your set-up is identical to the DS3; if so, to the left of the battery as you're looking at it in that photo there's a plastic housing, tight up against the battery, which contains the ECU. If you remove the cover you can than remove the ECU unit by pulling it upwards - it may need a little bit of wiggling. With that out of the way you can tip the battery over to the left which should allow it to be slid slightly to the right, out from under the lip holding it in position. I didn't go all the way with removing my battery, as I didn't want to disconnect it, but it looks as though that should work.

Dave, you are a Hero

Managed to charge the battery in situ on Sat
BUT
The bloody thing died on me again this morning banghead

After coating everything with WD, I mustered all my tentative nerves and yanked the case containing the ECU gubbins out.

Then, after a lot of peering and blindly levering, I realised that the left-hand of the battery (as I look at it from the front of the car) was located under a safety rim....

There is nothing retaining the rear right of the battery but the lever (which I had thought was present to locate the battery cover)
has a second purpose as it retains the front right corner of the battery in place.

All I had to do was grow a third hand to push that lever out whilst jiggering out the battery with my other two, feeble, remaining ones.

Battery charged in about 30 mins so I presume that it's buggered. Ah well, not bad for 9 years.

Thanks, once again, for your revolutionary guide (Impossible to find any useful info on PeugoutForums furious )

I owe you a bottle drink

You're welcome! It had me intrigued as I'd had a look way back when the car was new & found the same as you did. My car's also a 2010 & although the battery's fine at the moment I thought it prudent to find out how to remove it, both as an answer to your question & in anticipation of my future needs!
