A little bit sad about this, The Twingo was something a little bit different to the norm...

A shame really, but the Twingo never sold well in the UK for some reason, although it seems to sell quite well in Europe. I always liked its dinky design and the different thinking gone into it. I drove one as a rental, and it was surprisingly good fun, even with the weakest NA engine. Still haven't tried the GT, but I'd be quite keen.
Yep it is going, it was never really supported by Renault UK and typically a Clio was always cheaper or similar in pricing, when it came to financing it.
City cars generally aren't profitable for a manufacturer so I guess this is part of the reason that it wasn't heavily supported financially, especially given the relatively expensive rear engine, rear drive layout. They are also quite expensive to service.
It is an interesting car with a great turning circle but the opposition offered much the same at a much more affordable price point, however I have heard that the C1/108 isn't doing all that great either.
I have heard that Scenic is going too, however Grand Scenic is staying.

Not an engineer, so feel free to roll your eyes, but I'd have said from a laymans point of view, that separating the steered wheels and driven wheels would bring cost benefits, if not reliability benefits with taking the power delivery away from variably stressed components.City cars generally aren't profitable for a manufacturer so I guess this is part of the reason that it wasn't heavily supported financially, especially given the relatively expensive rear engine, rear drive layout. Introduces packaging headaches I imagine, but gives you options regarding pedestrian safety?

Ruined it with the facelift, those lights did it no favours. Always thought the stereo console looked clumsy as well.
Are you talking about the previous generation car?The facelift of the new generation has just launched and is the car not coming to the U.K.
