Having a very strange conversation with a friend who absolutely insists that the DS3 is no longer being offered for sale new with a manual gearbox.
Anyone out there heard this?

Just Googled it, and manual is still on the DS automobiles web site.

I just wish the DS3 was being discontinued altogether, I hate them (personal opinion of course).

I understand the DS3 is being replaced with a crossover type thing, a bad move in my opinion.

Yes that's true, the Crossback. DS are trying to market it against the Audi Q2 and Mini Countryman so have hiked the price up to circa £25k for a decent specced one. Considering one of the DS3's key selling points and what helped to make it sell so well was that it was quite affordable and quick for the kit on offer; not offering another supermini sized car is a bit daft.

I sat in a DS3 for the first time a few weeks ago and it was fitted with their performance bucket seats. They were honestly some of the comfiest car seats I've sat in! Deceptively soft and very supportive they made me want one just for them!

If they are the same as in the DS3 Racing, then I'd agree. I got a ride around the track in one at French Car Show 2012 and they were great (liked the car too, but they had too many problems & didn't like the colours either!).

Yeah the new DS3 Crossback is due next year, a small crossover type thing with in my eyes, questionable styling. Maybe if the monthlies are similar, then perhaps they'll expect existing DS3 customers to simply upgrade to the Crossback. Also coming is an E-Tense version, a sort of hybrid thing I believe.

Perhaps by increasing the size of the DS3 model, it opens up space below that in the line up for a true DS3 replacement, call it the DS2 or DS1. A bit like the Fiesta growing and growing until you suddenly have space for a Ka. Personally I'm not interesting in the Crossback models, I'm more interested to see what DS5/C6 equivalent type cars they come up with.

Noise, ride, vibrations, visibility, illogical interior, 3-door only ... etc

It's built to sell on style, not substance. Feels like a bundle of Peugeot bits held together with blu-tak.

Nothing questionable about the interior, though - it's hideous! To me, as a happy DS3 owner, the Crossback is everything a DS3 isn't. . . good luck to the poor sods whose job it is to sell that monstrosity!
