Can anyone help ?

Have a Citroen c3 1.6 hdi 95k on the clock, my problem it smokes badly on cold start up, runs fine when warm and no power loss.

Have taken it to several garages and the cost is mounting up, turbo replaced 3k ago, injectors tested one replaced, compression test all ok , all other tests completed. Oil,and filters replaced, engine flush even added stop smoke but nothing helps.....

Thanks in advance

What's the average journey in miles?

What sort of driving, town or open road or both?

Does it get fully warmed up each journey?

Does it only smoke when cold, for how long?

What colour is the smoke?

Any loss of power?

Have done around 150 miles trip this week & still smokes when cold, have tried some motorway driving but nothing helps.

Smoke looks mainly white, there is no power loss.

Could be valve stem seals. Or turbo bearing seals. Both of these cause oil seepage in the intake manifold and blue-ish smoke on startup and cold running, and subsequently subside as the engine warms up.

Was it a new turbo fitted?

And was it a failure when replaced or just because 'it might be the turbo'? Are you absolutely sure the garage did swap out the turbo?
