Renault 2008 electric/auto handbrake
Discussion
Needs to go to a garage to be adjusted, however when parked up, engine off and handbrake auto engaged, before you open the door to get out, flick and hold the switch up for a few seconds until you hear a whirr from the electronic handbrake system, this is effectively pulling a manual handbrake lever up a notch, it is designed to do that for scenarios where you are parked on a slope.

Thanks but I don't have a switch to hold up, only a pull out handle that has either a green/red light on when engaged or not? Thanks againmgsontour said:

Thanks againThinking about it, Megane III from 2008 had the option of an ectronic handbrake but only on the continent, the UK had the option a few years later, possibly after the face-lift.

So a Scenic, not a Megane, pull out the handle and hold it out until you hear the whirr, it works the same way.

Thank you again for your help, in all honesty I've never known what the exact model is as some people/sites regard it as a Megane and others a Scenic,it has a few little problems but runs OK.. . . May I pick your brains once again, if I have to get it repaired is this the most effective way ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Scenic-megane-e...f:1&frcectupt=true ) Thanks againThinking about it, Megane III from 2008 had the option of an ectronic handbrake but only on the continent, the UK had the option a few years later, possibly after the face-lift.

Haven't a clue tbh, I personally would get it looked at at a dealer.
When Scenic was launched it was known as Megane-Scenic, this naming continued into Scenic II (yours), yours will say Scenic on the back but on the c-pillar (I think) there will be a "Megane" inscription.
"Megane" was dropped for Scenic III, to make life easier when it comes to your car, just refer to it as a Scenic.
