More common conversion is the 306 GTi-6 engine as it doesn't suffer oil starvation under hard cornering

I
Sold two of these engines each for less than £100 - ten years ago!

Have you not considered an MI16 swap? Or the more modern GTI-6 swap?

Mi16’s are hard to find and expensive.
That’s what went in mine 14 years ago!

I almost forgot how rare they now are, has anyone done the engine from the 206 GTI in a 205?

Umm, you know a 406 is a Pug, right?

What 406 engine are we talking about? XU10 16v or EW10 or...? Not an TurboCT, I presume (I once sold one to a bloke who was putting it in a 205).

Sorry I meant 205 1.9, take it back to standard!
It’s a XU10 16v in it now

So mebbe go back a generation of PSA stuff - there's still the odd scratty 405 or BX or early 8v Xant kicking about. Simpler engine management, simpler to tie in to the 205.

Take it to an auto electrician and get him to do it if engine is good. Probs only cost price of engine to sort ?
