Hi, Hoping to get some help on issues i am currently having with my 207 1.4 (60 Plate).

For the last few months, blue smoke will come out of the exhaust after being idle such as waiting in traffic and and lights. It does not emit smoke upon start up - only once the engine is warm. I understand this is because it is burning oil - i am having to top up oil every 2 weeks or so. I am just unsure of the next steps to take as i fear it being expensive to fix. If i open the oil cap after driving there will also be white smoke coming out.

Today when crawling in traffic a warning came up on the dash - saying STOP - engine temperature too high. The temperature gauge when up before coming down quickly and the warning disappeared.

Whats the best steps to take to get this fixed? Any help or info would be appreciated.

Are we talking the 1360 or 1397cc engine here? (75 or 95ps). What you are describing sounds like a HG failure (temp going through the roof) and valve stem seals for the oil/smokw. When cold take the cap off the cooland and rev the car, if there is an air leak or lock, the water will pour out of the coolant tank.
Is the car also noisy when revving??

Sounds like a reasonable degree of internal wear - rings, valve guides, that sort of thing.

It's the 95ps engine. Will try the coolant, thanks. Car is reasonably noisy but nothing too noticeable or crazy.

I've driven the car a number of times since as the temp warning has only happened once. The temp needle increased and then drops back down straight away whilst driving.
